The origin of MVC LEO

As members of the Intruder Owners Club, we, Patty and myself, found that 1 tour a month was just not enough. And there was little or no activity as far as biker rallies were concerned.

Because we had for some time been toying with the idea of starting a motor friends club of our own, we finally decided to put our money where our mouth is. And so we, Patty and myself, made all the preparations a few weeks before the launch date of the website and forum.

On the 1^st of October 2004 we started informing people of our plans.

Since then we have had many tours and been to rallies and everybody is enthousiastic.

We have been a democratic club with a fully elected governing  board since January 2006.  

  In principle, anyone can become a candidate member, you have to have at least a motocycle license or a driver’s license in case you want to ride a trike.

  Conditional to becoming a full member is fitting into the group. Therefore we have an initiate period before one may become a full member. . We do however, expect that he/she participates in as many activities possible and are not inactive.

  A very important rule that we do have is that safety of all our members comes first place. Therefore, this means that during tours no alchohol is tolerated.

Further, we are not looking for quarrelsome, brawl seeking members in our club. We will also put a stop to candidate membership enrollment if our club starts to get too large, this mainly to ensure the safety of our present members during tours.

Spouses of partners are also automatically members even though they do not ride a motor or trike themselves.  Make and model is not important, as long as it has a cylinder minimum of 250cc. The tours are ridden in a tour tempo, road races during a tour are not permitted.

We have a website and a forum where you can find support for your hobby and where you also may contribute your 2 cents.

The conditions for using the forum are clearly stated on the forum itself.  Please read this well and take note. In the winter the forum is used a lot more. In the coming season, we wil be visiting rallies and will be maintaining and expanding the friendships with other clubs  by visiting them as well.

We want to enjoy motorcycle riding to the fullest extent.  BBQ’s and internal parties are a part of establishing our solidarity.

We have faith in a bright future for MVC L.E.O. especially considering the members that we already have.
